The youth evening of December was celebrated on December 30th, 2011 within the octave of christmas. It started at 7 p.m. with an eucharistic adoration, performed by young people from the parish of Straden/Styria. Afterwards, there was a  special program in our monastery.

Dear friends of our community!
In those days we remember St. Francis, who was the first who celebrated christmas with a real crib with ox, donkey and the child in the crib. In 1223, he came to Greccio, a small town in the Rieti-valley near Assisi (Italy). There, with his own eyes, he wanted to see how poor and small the almighty God has made himself for us. St. Francis felt to poorness of God, he smelled His presence between the animals, the straw - he bowed down before the poor God and he sang songs about Him, who has become a human being.
