Eternal profession of Sr. Kerstin Oswald

19. September 2017

"If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." (Lk 9,23). Sr. Kerstin Oswald has obayed the voice of Jesus and got up to surrender him completely. On September 17th, 2017, she has made her eternal profession at the pilgrimage church of St. Mary Fatima (Styria/Austria). She bound herself to God and the community "St. Mary, Queen of Peace".

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin with diocesan bishop Dr. Wilhelm Krautwaschl

On August 15th, 2017, many pilgrims came to the Fatima chapel to celebrate the high feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin - together with the diocesan bishop Dr. Wilhelm Krautwaschl. One hundred years ago, in 1917, the Mother of God has appeared at Fatima for several times - a jubilee especially notized at that day.

28th youth festival Medjugorje 2017 - day 5

6. August 2017

The last day of the festival was filled with impulses, testmonies, reports and music. The festival ended at 5.00 am of day 6 with a hl. mass, celebrated by the parson of Medjugorje, P. Marinko, in concelebration with far more than 100 priests.

On the 4th day of the youth festival at Medjugorje, some reports and personal testimonies were given. The afternoon program was organized by the community of Genacolo. In the evening, they have performed their musical "Credo".

4. August 2017

The 3rd day of the youth festival was filled with a rich program. Our group started the day with the laudes, the morning prayer of the church, then our pilgrims participated the program. Highlight of the day was the hl. mass celebrated by Ernest Cardinal Simoni and his sermon in the evening.

3. August 2017

The 2nd day of the 28th yout festival at Medjugorje - 61 nations have come together there - began with a prayer at the hill of appearance. Early in the morning, the parson of Medjugorje, P. Marinko, and the seer Ivan prayed together with the pilgrims the rosary there and lad them to the Gospa.

Bethany - a weekend with God

From July 7th to 9th, 2017, young people have spent a weekend in our monastery "St. Mary Fatima" together with the sisters and brothers of our community. At the beginning of their summer holidays, they wanted to have some time with prayers and the experience of community - with God and themselves.

At the second day of the SpiriNight we had a nice evening, feeling the influence of the Holy Spirit. This day, the candidtes for confirmation came from the parishes of Kapfenstein, Deutsch Goritz, Straden und from the community of parishes of Gnas-Trautmannsdorf-Bad Gleichenberg. Thanks God and all helpers! The hl. mass was celebrated by the bishopsvikar of the military diocese Mag.Dr. Alexander Wessely.

On April 21st, 2017, the regional SpiriNight happened at St. Mary Fatima. 155 candidates for confirmation from the parishes of Bierbaum, St. Peter, St. Anna, Fehring, the community of parishes of Bad Radkersburg and Mureck came together with their attendances. Our gratitude to many, many helpers! The hl. mass was celebrated by Diözesanjugendseelsorger P. Bernhard Pesendorfer.

On Easter Monday, April 17th, 2017, our community had invited to our traditional easter afternoon come together. After a holy mass, oblates, members of the community who don´t live in the monastery, as well as some friends and benefactors came together in our monastery to meet and communicate in a pleasant atmosphere.

Medjugorje pilgrimage on Palm Sunday 2017

12. April 2017

In the evening of April 8th, 2017, 40 pilgrims from Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland and Styria (Austria) have arrived at Medjugorje to begin the Holy Week there by taking part at the ceremonies of the Palm Sunday liturgy. They were accompanied by Fr. Niklas Müller, Sr. Ivanka Vasilj and Sr. Kerstin Oswald.

Papal Nuncio with special responsibilities, Archbishop Henryk Hoser in Medjogorje

5. April 2017

On February 11th, 2017, the Holy Father, Pope Francis has designated Henryk Hoser, the archbishop of the diocese Warsaw-Praga (Poland) as papal nuncio with special responsibilities on Medjugorje.

Now, from March 29th to April 5th, the archbishop has visited Medjugorje to get an impression on the pastoral work done in Medjugorje. Until the end of summer 2017, a summary of his visit is expected.

Youth evening in January, 2017

31. Jänner 2017

On the last friday of the month, the first youth evening of the year was held. It started with the holy mass, then a lecture on "our friendship with God", given by Br. Ignaz, and the eucharistic adoration followed. Beate and Gernot Prietl were responsible for the music during the adoration. Afterwards, the people were invited to an agape - an opportunity to celebrate the successful end of the undergraduate days of Sr. Kerstin, too.

Franz Sommer - rest in peace!

4. September 2016

After a fulfiled life, God, our father in heaven, has taken Franz Sommer, the founder of the Fatima chapel, to him. Franz Sommer has passed away on Friday, September 2nd, 2016. He was 96 years old. On September 3rd, we have prayed for him, on September 4th, the funeral service took place at the Fatima chapel, and, after the hl. mass, at the cemetery of Bierbaum-Trössing (Styria).
